Who we are

Sensory Sorted is a UK-based website run by Sarah, a parent to neurodivergent children. The site publishes independent product reviews for families of children with autism, ADHD, sensory processing disorder, and other sensory differences.

For the purposes of UK data protection law, the data controller is the individual operator of this website. If you have any questions about how we handle your data, please use the contact details at the bottom of this page.

What information we collect

We collect limited information. Specifically:

• Usage data via analytics: We may use a privacy-respecting analytics tool (such as Google Analytics or a GDPR-compliant alternative) to understand how visitors use our site, for example, which pages are viewed and where traffic comes from. This data is aggregated and does not identify you personally.
• Cookies: Our site may use cookies to support basic website functionality and analytics. You can disable cookies in your browser settings at any time. See the Cookies section below for more detail.
• Contact enquiries: If you contact us by email, we will hold the information you provide only for as long as necessary to respond to your enquiry.
• Email address (if you sign up): If you choose to sign up for our mailing list, we collect your email address. We use this to send you the free PDF you signed up for and occasional newsletters about new content and resources. We use MailerLite to manage our mailing list — see the Email list and MailerLite section below for details.
• Purchase data (digital products): If you purchase a digital product via Payhip, Payhip collects and processes your payment and personal details as a data controller in their own right. We receive only the information needed to fulfil your order. See the Digital products and Payhip section below.

We do not create user accounts or collect personal data beyond what is described above.

Email list and MailerLite

If you choose to sign up for our mailing list, your email address is stored and managed by MailerLite, our email marketing provider. MailerLite acts as a data processor on our behalf and is bound by a data processing agreement. They do not use your data for their own marketing purposes.

By signing up, you agree to receive:

• A welcome email delivering the free PDF resource you requested
• Occasional newsletters with new guides, product recommendations, and resources for SEN families

You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in the footer of any email we send. You can also request deletion of your data by emailing us at hello@sensorysorted.co.uk.

The legal basis for processing your email address is consent (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(a)). You can withdraw consent at any time by unsubscribing.

We retain your email address for as long as you remain subscribed. If you unsubscribe, your data is deleted from our active list within 30 days.

MailerLite's privacy policy is available at mailerlite.com/legal/privacy-policy. MailerLite is GDPR-compliant and processes data within the EU/EEA.

Digital products and Payhip

We sell downloadable digital products (such as letter templates and planning packs) through Payhip. When you make a purchase, Payhip collects and processes your payment details and personal information as an independent data controller. We receive only the information necessary to fulfil your order (such as your email address for delivery).

We do not store your payment card details. All payment processing is handled by Payhip via Stripe or PayPal.

Affiliate links and third-party sites

Many links on Sensory Sorted are affiliate links, primarily to Amazon. When you click one of these links and make a purchase, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you.

When you click through to a retailer such as Amazon, you leave our site and are subject to that retailer's own privacy policy and terms. We have no control over, and are not responsible for, what data those third parties collect. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before making a purchase.

Data retention

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary:

• Contact enquiries: deleted once resolved
• Email subscribers: retained for as long as you remain subscribed; deleted within 30 days of unsubscribing or a deletion request
• Purchase records via Payhip: retained by Payhip in accordance with their own privacy policy and legal obligations
• Analytics data: anonymised data may be retained for longer to help us track trends over time

Children's privacy

This website is intended for parents and carers of children. It is not directed at children themselves. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.
